Wet’n’Wild to Hold Fundraiser for Jonny Smith Memorial

Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas will host a fundraiser for Jonny Smith, a 12-year-old boy who was struck by a car and killed crossing the street from Faiss Middle School, on Wednesday, April 17. The park will donate $1 from every ticket sold to the In Memory of Jonny Smith Go Fund Me Page. UNLV’s Vulnerable Road Users Project will be on hand all day providing information and holding pedestrian safety demonstrations.

In an effort to support the surrounding community and help Jonny Smith’s family heal, Wet’n’Wild will host a fundraiser to honor the memory of Jonny Smith, where $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the In Memory of Jonny Smith Go Fund Me Page. Additionally, safety demonstrations by UNLV’s Vulnerable Road Users Project will take place throughout the day on Wednesday. The demonstrations will include a functioning traffic signal and roll out crosswalk where guests can learn about proper crosswalk safety. Guests will also be informed on what to do when there are no traffic signals, as well as how to stay as safe as possible at all times.
