Save a Life Win a MacBook 2023

Hello! Welcome to our Pedsafe.Vegas website and our Save A Life, Win A MacBook page! We are thrilled you are interested in exploring the project. At the end of the process, there will be a student who has won an Apple MacBook and their poster will be featured on bus shelters across the city. There will also be one student that will have won an Apple iPad and their artwork will be featured inside busses traveling all over town. So here are some tips:

If you are interested in winning the MacBook, you'll need to design a poster that will be seen on bus shelters all over town. Keep in mind your poster must be in portrait format (taller than it is wide) and easy to to be understood by Drivers who are traveling at 40 miles per hour. Check out these examples to see what we mean.

If you have your eye on willing the iPad you’ll want to change your messaging. Your poster should be in landscape format (wider than it is tall) and contain information that will catch the eye of passengers inside a moving bus. See examples…

If you would like to quote crash data (optional) it is important that it is accurate and up-to-date. Below are some quick facts and tips to use on your poster. If you're not sure about your facts please Contact Us.

  • Between 2018 and 2022, an estimated 308 pedestrians died in Clark County
  • Between 2017 and 2021, 27 bicyclists died in Clark County
  • Close to 80 percent of pedestrian fatalities happen from dusk to dawn
  • Make sure drivers can see you! Carry lights, wear reflective items or clothes
  • Don’t drive or walk distracted!

We’re planning to have art shows and displays to exhibit our top 20 entries. We also have plans to produce a calendar highlighting the top 14 poster submissions. Keep in mind you can design your poster in any medium you choose using everything from pencils, paint, and crayons to cad designs and graphic arts!

NOTE: The size of the paper containing your finished poster is very important for printing.

Maximum Bus Stop Poster Size = 14 inches wide X 20 inches tall

Maximum Inside Bus Poster Size = 17 inches wide X 11 inches tall

When using smaller paper than the size above make sure to use the same proportions. Contact Us if you have questions.
